This role requires you to work with colleagues from across the whole Council as well as representatives from other external partner agencies to promote civic pride and reduce enviro-crime in Ceredigion.
The principal role of this post is to engage local communities and facilitate, empower and support volunteers, and other local partners, to undertake a variety of activities to improve Local Environmental Quality (LEQ) and access to nature. The successful candidate should have good communication and customer service skills, have experience of undertaking enviro-crime and environmental protection enforcement activities, as well as experience of successfully managing and co-ordinating project work. You must also be able to work under pressure, meet deadlines, prioritise your workload and be able to work as part of a small team but equally be self-motivated and organised to work alone in certain situations.
The role will be flexible, with priorities changing depending on current funding sources and national priorities. The post is funded through the Welsh Government Rural Communities - Rural Development Programme 2014-2020 grant, which is funded by the Welsh Government and the European Union.
As an organisation, we are committed to supporting the Welsh language and culture, and to ensuring our services and activities serve to promote and facilitate the use of the Welsh language. This post requires Welsh language skills but if you do not already have these skills, the Council provides Welsh Work Improvement courses to support you in your efforts to learn Welsh.
The Council also offers a comprehensive benefits package, which includes flexible working time arrangements, discounts and salary-sacrifice schemes. You will be required to work outside core hours when necessary and weekend working as and when required.
