Job description
We are seeking to employ an enthusiastic, committed and highly motivated teacher of Design Technology / Resistant Materials on a full-time contract.
Design and Technology is a successful and popular department within the school. At Key Stage 3, pupils have Design and Technology for 4 hours a fortnight as part of a carousel system. At Key Stage 4 we offer Engineering,
Resistant Materials, Food & Nutrition, Textiles and Health & Social Care. A range of courses are offered at A level including Resistant Materials. The department benefits from technician support.
Ysgol Gyfun Aberaeron is a naturally bilingual school, and it is our aim to support each pupil to be bilingual by the time they leave. We have over 600 pupils with approximately 100 in the sixth form. We aim to create a hard-working environment in which pupils can enjoy academic success, and develop personally and emotionally, by virtue of social and cultural activities. Pupils are encouraged to do their best at all times, to achieve the highest possible standards for life during and after their school years.
The successful candidate will be:
An outstanding teacher of DT
Able to teach Resistant Materials at KS3, 4 and AS/A level
A team player with excellent communication and inter-personal skills
Committed to raising standards and someone who has a measurable impact as an individual teacher
Able to teach outside of their subject specialism

The successful applicant will need to register with the Education Workforce Council in order to be appointed to this post.
