The Ceredigion Looked After Children and Leaving Care Service are looking for a social worker to join a busy and supportive team of social work staff.
The LAC Social worker will be responsible for a number of young people who are looked after and will be required to carry out statutory duties in relation to their role as the allocated social worker and develop and monitor individual care and support plans for each child.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed social worker who has experience in working with children and families and is able to manage their caseload as well as undertake statutory visits within timescales as required.
The applicant will need to be well organized and sensitive to the complexities of direct family work and adopt an anti-oppressive stance in their practice at all times. The applicant will be expected to prepare court papers, attend court and other regular meetings as part of their duties and attend child protection conferences and reviews.
The expectation is that the social worker will work in a collaborative way with other agencies and Departments to promote the wellbeing of the child in accordance with the individual care and support plan.
Regular supervision will be provided and access to relevant training and opportunities to develop personal professional practice will be made available for the successful candidate.
A bilingual policy is in operation and candidates who do not have the linguistic ability in Welsh will be supported and encouraged to achieve the ALTE standard within 2 years.

Each member of staff and volunteer is expected to share this commitment, and we will require an Enhanced Check by the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS), formerly CRB.
