Social Worker
Job description
We are looking for a qualified social worker to join our Child & Family Assessment Team who has experience in working with children and families. You must be able to manage a caseload as well as undertake statutory visits within timescales as required.
If you are committed to safeguarding & promoting the child's welfare and eager to ensure the highest
standard of practice, there is an opportunity to join this supportive working environment offering supervision and training.
As a Local Authority, we are committed to delivering improved safety and well-being outcomes for children, individuals and families and, in order to achieve that goal, we need to be confident that our workforce development, assessment and care planning are informed by evidence of innovative and best practice.
Ceredigion will deliver sustainable and quality services using co-productive and collaborative methods with a clear focus on what matters to people's safety and well-being. We are committed to working with children, individuals and families and with our partner agencies across all sectors so as to make a positive difference to people's lives.
The Signs of Safety Practice Framework will underpin all aspects of service delivery across the corporate Organisation. This will ensure that there is greater consistency and transparency in what individuals and families can expect from us across the continuum of need. The Signs of Safety Framework ensures there is emphasis on building individual, family and community strengths and robust assessment to identify clear goals, which will enable the organisation to deliver the right help at the right time to people in Ceredigion
The ability to travel throughout the county is essential.
A bilingual policy is in operation and candidates who do not have the linguistic ability in Welsh will be supported and encouraged to achieve the ALTE standard within 2 years.
Safeguarding and protecting adults at risk and children are key priorities for us. We aim to support adults at risk, children and young people to ensure they are as safe as they can possibly be. We acknowledge their right to protection and will take action to safeguard their welfare. Each member of staff and volunteer is expected to share this commitment, and we will require an Enhanced Check by the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS), formerly CRB before appointing to this post.
If you would like further discussion, please contact Annette Jones Team Manager 01545 574027.
