A vacancy exists within Ceredigion County Council's Public Protection Services.
We are seeking to recruit a Trading Standards Officer to join our small but busy Trading Standards team. This is a challenging opportunity for an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual.
For this post you must possess a Diploma in Trading Standards or equivalent, have good communication skills and the ability to work using your own initiative. You will undertake the full range of trading standards functions including investigating consumer complaints, inspection of business premises to ensure compliance with trading standards legislation (including food and animal feed standards) and carry out the duties of a Weights and Measures Inspector.
As an organisation, we are committed to supporting the Welsh language and culture, and to ensuring our services and activities serve to promote and facilitate the use of the Welsh language. This post requires Welsh language skills. If you do not already have these skills, the Council provides Welsh Work Improvement courses to support you in your efforts to learn Welsh.
The Council also offers a comprehensive benefits package which includes flexible working time arrangements, discounts and salary-sacrifice schemes. You will be required to work outside core hours when necessary and weekend working as and when required.
